Tell us which phone you are using, which version of WIVO, and what you were doing when it went wrong. It saves a round trip.
We answer within one week. WIVO is built and run by one person, so that is a promise that can be kept rather than one that reads better.
WIVO is not warning me about anything
Work down this list — the app tells you which one it is, at the top of the screen.
- “Waiting for a GPS fix” — the phone has not located itself yet. This takes longer indoors, in a garage, or in a car with a heated windscreen. Drive out into the open and give it a minute.
- “Location permission is off” — WIVO cannot warn you without knowing where you are. The banner has a button that takes you straight to the system settings.
- “Location off” — location services are switched off for the whole phone, not just for WIVO.
- “No server connection — warnings are off” — WIVO could not fetch the cameras around you. Check your data connection; the app retries by itself.
- “No cameras nearby” — everything is working and there is genuinely nothing within range.
I can't see mobile cameras
Mobile cameras — the ones reported by other drivers — are a PRO feature. On FREE you are warned about fixed cameras, and every camera on the map is shown as a plain grey dot without its type.
How do I report a camera?
Press and hold the REPORT CAMERA button until it fills. A tap will not do it — that is deliberate, so a bump in traffic cannot file a report by itself. If you let go too early the app tells you to hold.
You need a GPS fix to report, because the report uses your current position as the camera's position.
“Too many reports. Wait a minute.”
Reporting is rate limited to keep the database clean. Wait a minute and try again.
Does it keep working with the screen off?
On PRO, yes. On Android you will see a permanent notification while it is active, so it is never running invisibly. This needs the “Always” / “Allow all the time” location permission, which your phone asks for separately from the normal one.
Continuous high-accuracy GPS uses battery. On a longer drive, keep the phone on a charger.
Which countries does it cover?
Camera data comes from public open data and from reports by other drivers, so coverage varies from region to region and is better where more people use WIVO. If your area is thin, reporting the cameras you pass is what improves it.
Before you use WIVO anywhere, check the legal restrictions — camera warning apps are not permitted everywhere.
I forgot my password
Tap Forgot your password? on the sign-in screen and enter the email address the account was created with. We send you a link; open it, choose a new password, and sign in with it in the app. The link works once and expires one hour after it is issued, so if it has gone stale, just ask for a new one.
If no message arrives, check the spam folder first. If it still is not there, write to support@wivo.world from the address the account was created with.
How do I cancel PRO?
Cancel from the Account screen in the app. You keep PRO until the end of the period you have already paid for, and it does not renew after that.
How do I delete my account?
Account screen → delete your account. It asks you to confirm twice. Deleting removes your account and subscription record and cancels an active subscription.
If you are still within 14 days of your subscription first becoming paid, the same dialog offers to refund the last payment. It shows you the amount and the days remaining before you confirm. The account is deleted either way — a payment problem never blocks it.
Reporting a problem with the data
If WIVO warns about a camera that is not there, or misses one that is, tell us where it was. Include the coordinates if you can — a road name and direction of travel also works.
